Louisiana Fresh Shrimp

        Hi Everyone in Chatham County!

Do you love shrimp?  If you do ... you will want to know that the wonderful shrimp enjoyed by the people of Southeast Louisiana is now available in Chatham County.  We bring them to Chatham!   We bring shrimp from Louisiana to you!

My name is Al Davis.  Janice and I live in the Algiers Point section of the City of New Orleans.  Algiers Point is located in a bend of the River where the Mississippi takes an extreme sharp turn in its journey to the Gulf of Mexico.   Long ago ... Steam Boat Pilots gave the area its name as they rounded "Algiers Point".

Before Katrina ... our 3 adult children and 5 grandchildren all lived within a few blocks of our home.

After Katrina ... our children and grandchildren all had to leave New Orleans.  They settled in other parts of the country.  One daughter and a precious grand-daughter found The Town of Pittsboro and Chatham County, N.C.

We thank you for welcoming our daughter and grand-daughter to Pittsboro. Everyone they met after Katrina was great and they are very happy in Pittsboro.  We have visited your town and county many times since 2005 and we know that Chatham is a great place to live and raise a child.

In our many visits to Chatham County ... there is only one problem area that we can see.

Chatham County needs FRESH SHRIMP !!

Chathamites  .... you have suffered far too long!

More About Shrimp

We deliver SHRIMP from Southeast Louisiana to Chatham County, North Carolina.

Recent price for 16-20 count (approximately 16 to 20 shrimp per pound) was $7.75 per pound.

These are wonderful, wild caught shrimp ... firm texture and bursting with flavor!

We bring 21-25, 16-20, 10-15 and 13-15, 16-18.  We bring whatever size is available as long as the quality is high.

The inland waters shrimp open season in Louisiana is from May to December.  At those times we bring fresh shrimp right off the boats to Chatham that have never been frozen.

From January to April the shrimp that we bring to Chatham are Gulf Shrimp that have been caught in the deep waters of the Gulf  of Mexico and may have been frozen on the boats. (Individually Quick Frozen - IQF).  Most  of the shrimp sold in America are IQF Shrimp.

Because the shrimp have been frozen so fast in the IQF  process, the cell membranes have not had a chance to rupture. IQF shrimp can be thawed out.  They are sold to consumers nationwide. Because of the flash freezing, IQF shrimp can be re-frozen  by you for later use.
